Check Out Our New Websites!

We have exciting news: The Center for Tobacco and the Environment (CTE) at San Diego State University has launched a new website! CTE and its new website pull together research and resources on the environmental and health impacts of commercial tobacco use and policy strategies to mitigate those impacts.

The Thirdhand Smoke Resource Center is now integrated into the CTE’s website, providing direct access to a range of resources about the toxic legacy of commercial tobacco in indoor environments. The Thirdhand Smoke Resource Center continues to educate the public, stakeholders, and tobacco prevention advocates about the harmful effects of thirdhand smoke and strategies to reduce exposure. You can still visit the Thirdhand Smoke Resource Center directly at thirdhandsmoke.org. We regularly add new resources, such as an online course for health care providers, an updated social media toolkit, and new FAQs in multiple languages. Be sure to check us out at the website.

The Policy Research Center for Tobacco and the Environment is also integrated into the CTE’s website, providing direct access to policy-related resources to address the toxic legacy of commercial tobacco use in indoor and outdoor environments. The Policy Research Center, a partnership between SAY San Diego and SDSU, works with the community to plan and carry out tobacco-related research projects that will inform policymakers. One such project is investigating the possibility of required seller disclosure of thirdhand smoke in home sales; another is investigating smokefree outdoor dining practices. You can visit the Policy Research Center directly at its new website to access resources and share your thoughts on thirdhand smoke and other tobacco pollution.

We invite you to explore the CTE website and Policy Research Center website today, and let us know what you think!
